Historic St. Pete Home Renovated to Smart Home

This historic home in St. Petersburg, Florida, was transformed from a historic home to a historic smart home, which may seem like a contradiction in terms. The homeowners, previous clients of Integral Home Technology, knew they wanted smart home technology to be added as the home was under renovation. They also knew they needed the expertise of Integral, who had done great work on their other properties and residences.

Integral explained the different home technology options and how they would need to get creative to overcome challenges, such as where the equipment would be located. The smart home technology needed to be placed somewhere that would be functional while not detracting from the aesthetics.  The majority of the equipment for each TV is hidden behind the screen in a recessed panel. This conceals the equipment while staying accessible should the homeowners need service or upgrades, a truly seamless solution.

All the audio, video, security, cameras, and automation were handled by Integral. The Control4 smart home automation system, controls the home and both TVs off via one Control4 controller.  A Samsung The Frame looks like a piece of framed artwork when the TV is not on, with a custom frame hiding the TV’s bezel.

Security was very important for the homeowners, so Integral installed a camera and alarm system to keep occupants safe and secure. From anywhere, they can remotely see what is happening on their property or control the alarm system for the ultimate peace of mind.

A Sonos music system makes entertaining easy and fun for these St. Pete homeowners, and they can take it all outside with the Sonos Move speaker.

The end result is a home that the residents truly love, especially how seamlessly the technology in their smart home bungalow works and how easy it is for anyone to use.
